An additional thrifting tip for our stores includes shopping the discount days. Every Tuesday is Senior Discount Day and we have Thank You Thursdays for service workers, including military personnel, firefighters, police officers and emergency medical services employees. Of course our Color of the Week rotation starts over every Sunday and is available to all shoppers.

Home to some of our most tenured employees, our Northeast Plaza store in Atlanta celebrated a grand re-opening on Thursday, April 14. Originally opened in April 2005, the store serves an average of 60 donors and 500 shoppers daily, and because it sees high foot traffic the store was due for a face-lift. As a part of the celebration there will be drawings at the store for Goodwill gift certificates all weekend long. Even with its new look the store will contain the same great treasures and great deals shoppers have enjoyed for the last 11 years. Here is a look at some of the items spotted at its grand re-opening:
Georgia’s pollen count is a great indicator that Spring is in the air! There’s no better time than the present to get started on some seasonal cleaning. Tackling an entire house can be overwhelming and unpleasant. Our spring cleaning tip is to clean room by room, breaking the project into more bite-size pieces.
Start with the room that feels most daunting to you so you can check it off your list early! And remember to add a “donate” pile next to trash and recycling as you work your way through each room in the house.
